Larry Burrill is President of McKean Technical Services of McKean Defense Group Inc., an engineering and technology solutions firm that provides life cycle engineering, sustainment and modernization support, and information technology/enterprise transformation services to the U.S. Navy and other federal customers. Headquartered in Philadelphia, McKean has over 650 employees with offices in Philadelphia, PA; Washington, D.C.; San Diego, CA; Virginia Beach, VA; Portsmouth, VA; and Crane, IN. McKean has been named a four-time “Philadelphia 100” fastest growing company, two-time “Inc. 500” fastest growing company in the U.S. and the “Top 50 Best Places to Work” in Washington, D.C.

Prior to his current position, he served on active duty with the U.S. Navy for over 24 years as an Engineering Duty Officer, in positions of increasing seniority ultimately retiring as Captain in 2001. He served in roles both ashore as well as at sea. He served as Chief Engineer in nuclear powered aircraft carrier, USS Carl Vinson CVN-70, as well as a junior officer in USS Downes FF 1070 deploying twice to the Indian Ocean. Ashore he served leadership positions in Program Management and Technical Leadership in Washington, D.C., as well as in Fleet Concentration areas.

Larry grew up in Canaan, Maine, with three brothers and one sister and currently lives in Philadelphia, PA. Larry attended local public schools and received his undergraduate degree in Marine Engineering from Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine. He completed his graduate work at the Naval Post Graduate
School in Monterey California where he received his Masters in Mechanical Engineering.

Larry has served on the Board of Directors as Audit Committee Chair, for McKean Defense Group, Inc., for ten years as well as for the last six years on the Bringing Hope Home Board of Directors, an organization supporting families in the fight against cancer. He served as the head Facilities Security Officer for the first four years in McKean Defense Group. He holds a Top Secret clearance. During his 24-year active duty Navy career he and his family lived many locations including Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Seattle, Washington; Boston,
Massachusetts; both Monterey and San Diego, California; and Springfield, Virginia. He is a member of several professional societies including the American Society of Naval Engineers.

Larry, and his wife Joan, have been married thirty-two years and have two children, Katherine and Gregory. Larry enjoys fine dining, golf, downhill skiing, Red Sox and Phillies baseball, and the Philadelphia Eagles.
